More Bunting

So, I made some more bunting for my photography prop stash. I can't wait to use it. The colors are fun and flowery. It really is so easy to make.

Just go get the triangle template I gave you on the last bunting post,
1-cut your fabric
2-sew the right sides together
3- turn right side out
4-iron
5-pin to the binding (make sure it is double fold binding)
6-sew a straight line on the binding and your done!

Here I just cut squares of burlap and then hot glued the lace to the burlap. Easy.

I would love to see pictures if any of you out there make some bunting. I have some more bunting that I want to make. So you will be seeing more posts on bunting. I just think it's so cute. You can make it for holidays to hang on your mantel, or for parties, or for anything else you want to use it for. Have fun bunting!! :D

Flowers

Here is a post on some flowers that I made the other night. The first two pictures are cute little flowers for babies and toddlers. I first found these from Make It and Love It. She has made a template for the flowers and has pictures on how she made them. I made some for my cousins baby shower a while back. They are just so cute. I especially love the grey one. They are made out of felt and thread! I hot glued the elastic on. Easy!!

These next flowers I made just by using ribbon that I had. The ones below I had used a lace that I had found sitting right next to the double fold binding, and they were on sale. Love the orange and purple. All I did was cut a circle of white felt, and started from the outside and worked my way in hot gluing as I went. I would ruffle the lace as I went along. glued some pearls and whalaa!!
The rosette flowers you pretty much see everywhere! I added some of my left over lace, added a clip and some pearls. love these colors.

this is just velvet ribbon that I ruffled and glued as I twirled it.
I love the color grey and lace, so this was a favorite.
1- cut out 8 circles of the grey fabric and 8 of the lace.
2-fold the circle in half, then in half again.
3-I cut it to look like a heart so when you unfold it it looks like a flower with petals.
4-I then put one grey circle with one lace circle and folded them together
5-I then glued the corner of the folded flowers to the center of the felt circle and just repeated.
6-you will have 4 folded flowers that will make up the bottom layer.
7-I then did the same for the second row, but I started by putting the first folded flower over one of the seams, that way each folded flower that you put down covers a seam (it makes it more fluffy). Does that make sense? Then add the pearl and clip and you are good to go.
*just a little note after i have cut the folded circle to look like the heart and have unfolded and have added the lace to it I fold it back up so the petals don't match up which gives it the more "petally" (i know that is not a word, but i like it) flower look.
Well, I hope you go and make a lot of flowers for your girls. I wish I had girls to put these on, but I dont. So I made them to use on the babies and girls for my photography. Let me know if you like them, or if I confused you on the instructions (which I am pretty sure I did because I'm not the best at explaining things). Have a good night!

Little Boy Ties

Hello everyone. I swear I am trying to keep up on posting, but to tell you the honest truth I get busy and forget. Time passes and I realize how long it's been. Here is a good example. This should have been posted in April....

What we are looking at here are the ties (I mean, you can go ahead and look at how cute those two boys are because, well they are so hard to not look at). :D I made these ties for their Easter outfits. I had found the wonderful tutorial from Make It and Love It!! I love, LOVE her site. She is so creative and always gives the best tutorials. For the ties you have to buy the tutorial, which I think is worth the money! Her tutorial could be followed by the most basic beginner. It has step by step pictures. I loved it, and everyone at church said how cute the ties were and when I told them that I had made them half of them did not believe me :D that made me feel great and I owe it all to Ashley from Make it and Love it!! So if you are looking to make your little guy or guys some ties head on over there!!!
I promise to post soon!!!

Sir Isaac Newton....

Sir Isaac Newton said it right when he gave the 3rd law of Motion.
For every action there is an equal and opposite re-action.... I finally watched Oprah's final show. I will miss her show because they are fun and entertaining AND Oprah has some really great words of advice that she shares. On her final show she shared Isaac Newton's 3rd law of motion and related it to how we should be. It's pretty much the golden rule-to do unto others as you would have others do unto you, and what you put out there you will get back whether it is good or bad.

So I made up some word art for you all. I just played around with different patterns and colors. Hope you like. To download just click on the picture, then click again to enlarge it then right click and save picture!! Let me know if you like!!

I'm Back!!

Hello everyone! I am back. Sorry for the lack of posts. I have a project that I have been working on that has taken up my free time. It has been extremely frustrating, and I have taken a break from it for just a little bit, but when I finish it (and hopefully that will be soon) I will share it all you with guys. Until then I do have one little sewing project that I finished.

I'm sure you have all seen bunting floating around everywhere on the craft blogland. I think it is so cute for so many different occasions and my photography is one that I love to use it for. I had this fabric left over from ties I made my boys for Easter, so I decided to make bunting. I didn't use a tutorial, I just made my own triangle template in photoshop and went from there. It was super easy. I cut my fabric out in as many triangles as I could, put the right sides together and sewed with a 1/4in seam allowance. I then trimmed the fabric off and the corner, turned them all right side out and ironed them. YOU MUST iron them :). I then used the bias tape I bought and pinned it all then sewed it. I think both banners took me a total combined time of 3 hours. Not bad eh? Beats buying it online for $60.

Below are pictures of the banner. I decided to show you the adorable little baby boy that I used them on. He was a sweetheart!!

Here is the triangle template I made. click on the picture, then click again to enlarge it, then right click and save as, and you now have the template!! I hope you like, and make your own!! I am going to pick up some girly fabric and make some for girls!! Leave me some love if you like!!
